Here’s a view of Casa Paloma in Huffman, Texas as of June 5, 2016.
We moved into Casa Paloma December 23, 2015. It was a HUGE endeavor to build this house. Glad to be able to finally call this place HOME.
This week the granite countertops were delivered and installed… all cut from the 11 raw slabs we had selected a month ago at Expo Granite.
It was an amazing process to watch the final cutting and polishing of each countertop… a very dusty environment in the garage! Everything fit and we are so excited about our color selections. Fantastic results!
The painters have been busy all week spraying our chosen paint colors for all the walls, ceilings, and the several cabinets which we wanted painted instead of stained.
It been really great to see what the house will truly look like with the real colors finally on the walls… we have been looking at the unpainted sheetrock walls for months!
Our new upstairs Patio Deck tile flooring is in. We chose this porcelain tile from Floor & Decor, and it creates the look of a wood deck.
Today 9 dump truck loads of fill dirt was delivered to Casa Paloma. We needed more dirt for leveling the driveway motorcourt near the garages, as well as more dirt in the backyard for the patio and sidewalks.
The construction of our curved entry stairway and railing has taken a long time… well over a month… as sometimes a week or so would go by with no progress. But when the trim carpenters did work on it… wow, these guys were real experts. We are very pleased with the final result… can’t wait to see this all stained and painted!
The painters have been busy priming all baseboards, crown molding trim, and cabinets to be painted by spraying the white primer paint… seemingly everywhere. Can’t wait for the final coat of the real paint colors!
